As the name says, these are vertical vanes or slats clipped to a sliding track at the top and operated with a control wand for traversing and rotation of louvers thus adjusting how much light enters the room. If you twist the wand, you can open and close the blinds, but if you slide the wand you can stack the vanes in three configurations:

Left Draw
Right Draw
Centre Split Draw

Cost-Effective

Available mostly in plastic or vinyl, the vertical blinds are probably the most economical choice for your window coverings. They are practical, easy to clean and are relatively maintenance free. The perfect solution for sliding patio doors, vertical blinds are versatile as they can be easily pushed or pulled to the sides to provide easy access to the door or window opening.

In most cases, the vertical blinds materials do not provide light filtering capabilities, so they need to be closed to create privacy. However, there are variations or options to dress them up in sheer fabrics to create privacy while the blinds are open and get a similar look and feel to curtains or drapery.
